ROMANTASY BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS: ARRANGE MARRIAGE EDITION

Romantasy is a well know term now for a book reader. It stands as romance and fantasy. I think romantasy become a whole new genre now because since last year, 2023, goodreads even add new genre on their yearly awards which is Romantasy. Long time ago I read fantasy for its great journey, unique world, great battle, unique characters and I kind of avoid this too much romance on fantasy book because I thought it could ruin the plot.

But then I read a fantasy series with heavy romance in it not only subplot but as one of the most important points, then I fell in love. Since then, I read fantasy a lot but with romance in it and now it changes into romantasy. Fantasy book could be hard for people because of the unique system and it’s kind of hard to imagine the world and for me with romantasy make it easier to engage with the story. Because there are so many books with great amount of fantasy and romance in it.

Arrange marriage is one of my favourite tropes, make it on romance or romantasy, I love to read this kind of trope. And I think I read lot of romantasy with this kind trope. And here are the 5 books series I love with romantasy on it!

The Bridge Kingdom Series

Two kingdoms. Enemies. Try to seal a cooperation by marriage. Lana is a warrior princess, she wants to take down King Aren, her husband to be and his kingdom to make her kingdom free from them. But after live and learn the nature of Bridge Kingdom, she knew the truth of all the things that been hidden from her, from her nation.

This series is the one I always recommend to others. I love this book so much. This book has complete package for me. Great enemies to lovers, strong female character, great chemistry and love, revenge, betrayal, battle, everything on this book is perfect. I can’t stop to read since I pick this book, devour everything in one seating. You really need to read the second one as soon as possible because it ends on cliffhanger, and don’t worry you will not disappointed because the second book is also so great. I love the conflict, it pained me while read this but all of it so worth it.

The Wrath and the Dawn Series

Ruled by monster. Every day new bride come for Khalid. People said that he is the monster. To revenge her best friend, Shahrzad volunteer herself to be the next bride. She determines to stop the terror from Khalid and bring end to it. But, after live with Caliph for a while, she knows that Caliph is not like the man she thinks he was.

I’m in love with this series! Everything on this book is so good. I love the fantasy point, the love story and the characters development. The love story is the best! It is slow burn, really slow but it is so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same point. You really need to prepare your heart when read this book!

Wraith Kings Series

The one thing that make me falling in love is the relationship between Brishen and Ildiko. They are so different because one is human and the other one is Kai. Their preference and life style are so different. But their friendship is so strong. Yes, they start with friendship and it is so beautiful. After that they slowly change from friendship to couple and really enjoy their life as married couple but of course we will see a big conflict threaten their peaceful life. The fantasy element got strong at the end part of book and the second book even more complicated conflict continue from the first book.

The Cursed Blood Series

Kitarni is different. She is a witch but different kind of witch, she is different from her kind. She has darkness in her. Something bad happen toward her people and her village. To protect it she need to betrothed to Wolfblood clan. Now with Dante, she will protect her village but little did she know that Dante also brings his secret within him.

I don’t have any expectation toward this book but I fall hard for this book. This book is so dark not dark romance but dark story. With witch, dark queen and other dark creature ready to destroy Kitarni and Dante family. I love the story, I love the world, the world builds really good and the characters development is really great. Kitarni and Dante relationship is really good, the up and down of their relationship is well explained in this book. I love how their love is not an easy one. Betrayal, doubt lingering on their relationship but it ends well. Really well. I love their banter and sweet moment!

I love the world building in this book. Really beautiful, detail and the conflict also really good! The tension in this book can really be felt by the reader. I love everything in this book! And the name of the character too! it's beautiful!

The relationship between Khamsin and Wynter also very lovely! The connection between them even tough they trying really hard not to like each other but it make the story goes better. I love how Wynter always care to Khamsin but didn't want to make it obvious to her. And after they become really close, their relationship really really got better!
